U.S. Orders – Important Information About Import Tariffs

As part of our commitment to transparency and exceptional service, we want to provide clear information on how recent tariff changes may affect your order, and what we’re doing to support you through this transition.

What Has Changed?

As of April 2025, the U.S. government has implemented a universal 10% import tariff on all goods entering the country, including products from the United Kingdom. This includes our Travel Dog Pods and accessories, which are classified under HS Code (pet bedding and similar furnishings).

This change means that U.S. customs may now apply a 10% duty on your order based on its declared value.

Does This Affect What I Paid at Checkout?

Possibly, yes.

• The price you paid at checkout, including Apple Pay or other payment methods, does not include this new import tariff.

• If customs applies the tariff, your courier (typically UPS, DHL, or USPS) will contact you before delivery to arrange payment of the fee.

• This fee is collected by U.S. Customs and is not charged or retained by Luther Bennett.

How We’re Supporting U.S. Customers

We recognise that this change creates added complexity for our American customers, so we have taken the following steps to help reduce the overall cost:

• We have begun covering a portion of the shipping cost ourselves.

• We now offer significantly improved UPS rates at checkout, providing faster and more reliable service.

• All shipments include accurate customs documentation to minimise any risk of delay.

These measures are part of our commitment to maintaining a fair, supportive experience for every customer, even amidst international policy changes.

 

Will Every U.S. Customer Be Charged?

Not necessarily.

• Orders of lower value may pass through customs without being charged.

• However, due to the blanket nature of the new tariff, we recommend customers anticipate the possibility of a 10% fee on their order total, particularly on higher-value items.

What to Expect After Placing an Order

1. Your order will be dispatched promptly with accurate customs declarations.

2. If U.S. Customs applies a tariff, your courier will contact you directly.

3. Once any applicable fees are settled, your order will be delivered as normal.
