There are two sizes to choose from:

The Travel Dog Pod is suitable for use as a bed and car seat and is intended for pups no larger than 16.5 kg.
If it is only going to be used as a car seat, then you could fit a slightly larger dog in there, but as a bed they will likely need more legroom.
For example, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Female whippet or a Golden Doodle would all be great examples of pups who use our pods in the car.
However, for a permanent bed, they may want the XL Pet Pod.

The pods might be expensive, but they are definitely worth it! They are well-made, easy to set up and the best point is they keep my dog safe. We brought the pod for our Chow Chow puppy, Toto. We introduced Toto to the XL Pod in the house so he could get used to it before we put it in the car. He settled right in! Then, we installed the pod in the car and took him for a drive to Crathes Castle so he could have a walk and give it a try. I have to say he was a happy little puppy.

We were getting a little worried as ,even though our ALD was great in the car during our 6-week road trip last year, she suddenly seemed distressed during car journeys this year. Even short trips of 15-30 min were terrible. She was standing up, panting heavily and not settling at all, even during a 2-hour journey. This is great. Arrived within 48 hours, easy to put together, great quality, and it easy to install (the written guide being more helpful than the video). I got the XL, so my travel sick, car hating Lurcher x Staffy could lie down. Although we have only been on very short trips so far, he has laid down in the car for the first time! I have a Toyota Aygo X and it fits/fills the back seat perfectly.

Well, not actually used it in a car yet, but only got it recently. We just set it up, and my dog likes sleeping in it. It's very comfortable.
Our dog has always seemed really unsettled in the car. He was previously on a bed in the boot and would always be up down, up down, never properly resting and constantly turning around. We trialled what having higher walls might do with a DIY cushion set up and it seemed to help so we decided to give the pod a go. Straight away he's so much happier. Actually lying down for once properly, no restlessness and jumps in without being bribed. We're going to try it in the boot for a true comparison but it's made him a lot happier and is far less distracting now from a driving perspective.

It’s the first bed where Rosie will lie down and seems a lot calmer. She can also sit up and see more as the cushions are lovely and padded adding height to the bed. I’ve tried so many different types of bed that I’m really hoping this one will help especially on long journeys.

Our new Black Lab puppy Billy was stressed by travelling in the car on short trips, and we had a long drive coming up so we needed a way of keeping him calm and safe. After researching the options on the internet we found the Luther Bassett beds and gave the Travel Dog Pod XL a try. In a word - brilliant! Billy has been getting more accustomed to the bed on shorter drives, and he was amazing on the long (4 hour) drive we had. Happily settled, slept and wasn’t bothered for a second. A fantastic purchase, worth the extra expense over other similar products.
Kitting out our new campervan ready for some summer adventures - I wanted a comfy bed for travel and overnights in the van as our FR Lab travels well but camping will be a whole new experience for her. The XL Pod caught my eye because of the isofix; it's otherwise a similar design to one we use in the car, though a higher price, however I could feel the difference in quality as soon as I unpacked the filling. We've only used it for day trips so far but she took to it instantly and seems very happy on the road. It also looks great and the fabric seems hardwearing. The isofix is good and secure but didn't line up well with our seats - I wondered if it would have to be on the middle seat in a car set up. Because there is a gap to the seat in front, I can't use the additional fixing strap - instead I have used the front rings to roll the front padding in half. This makes a really firm front cushion for her to rest on which allows her to face forward, and see what's going on! I also love the side zips which work easily and mean that she can step up rather than having to jump over the sides. Looking forward to the overnight camping test next month!

As soon as I'd assembled the XL pod my whippet got in to it. She spent the next 2 hours in it snoozing, looking extremely comfortable. She enjoys relaxing in it so much that ideally I would buy a second pod so she has one for the car and one for home use. Although she's not a large whippet, the dimensions of the XL pod suit her much better than the standard size. She looks so cosy and snug when travelling in it.
She feels so snuggly in it. Everybody is amazed at how comfy it is, and always say, well the dogs spoilt. What I did feedback on was a bigger strap as I have a campervan and it has to go around a double seat. But worth very penny to see her comfortable.

Fantastic, we drive back and to from Cornwall regularly and Bert normally goes in the boot but we felt it wasn’t as safe as being in the car so looked around and decided to try this so he can be securely in the car. He is a big dog and it is amazing. He slept 5 hours out the 7 hour journey (which he never does!) thank you will recommend for sure.

This is the face of a very happy dog! Our two and half year old whippet struggles to get comfy in the boot of our car and hates being back there away from us when he travels alone so gets anxious, pants and makes an awful noise. I saw the Luther Bennet Dog Pod advertised and thought it was worth a try to hopefully improve things for us all! I bought the XL size as he weighs a little over 17kg and likes to stretch out on long trips but on shorter trips I think he’d be ok in the smaller Pod. Our first journey using it was in awful weather, but knowing he was safe and comfortable and quiet made coping with the awful driving conditions that much easier. It was so easy to fit and remove using the Isofit clips and I like that there are straps provided for extra security. I plan on buying the smaller size to leave in my car for shorter trips where he’s happy to curl up. Definitely a five star purchase which I wish I’d found years ago!
Our new puppy Kingston was really struggling with car travel. He had a crate in the backseat, and would have excessive drooling and on many occasions it would end up with him being sick and thoroughly miserable. After reading other peoples reviews I decided to go for the xl travel pod. He went for his first drive the other day and what can I say it was a fantastic experience and the complete opposite to previous trips. He happily sat watching the world go by. No drooling, no sickness, just one very happy puppy. I am so happy with the outcome.
I ordered the XL dog pod after a very poor experience with another company. The service was exactly as described, the delivery was speedy and the product quality is excellent. My very anxious dog absolutely loves the bed and settles in such a relaxed way. She had to stay with friends this weekend and took her new bed with her. She is normally quite stressed and paces a lot when out of her own environment but they said she slept like a baby. The big test will be when we take her to Europe in a few weeks. We haven't so far managed to help her enough with her anxiety during a long journey and she has previously sat up panting in her car dog cage in the boot the whole way despite anxiety medication. Hopefully this time, being closer to us and in her own secure bed, she will have a different experience.

Splashed out as the one’s we’d researched didn’t appear to be the right product. The human found it rather difficult to get out after testing the quality, and realising it is exceptionally comfortable. I’ve having the best car naps, and also struggle to get out, as shown by the sneaky photos my pawrents took whilst mid snooze.
Finn was a very nervous passenger but now he’s settled and comfy as well as safe when we travel, can thank you guys enough, your customer service is excellent and everyone I have dealt with has been pleasant knowledgeable definitely 5 🌟

I took a long time deciding on this rather expensive dog travel bed for my 9 year old Giant Schnauzer. She had become quite arthritic and her old travel crate did not offer enough comfort. I am SO glad that I went ahead and bought it. Delivery was fast, 48 hours from ordering. I unpacked it and before I even put it in the car, she sat in it and lay down happily as if to ask me what took me so long to upgrade her. It is now in the boot of my SUV and she travels very happily in it. It IS worth the money. I wish I had got it sooner for her. A couple of people who saw her in it said how happy she looks. It is an investment in safe, comfortable travel for my gorgeous girl. I now need to save up for one for my younger Labradoodle too!
Although this is a lovely comfy bed, bought to collect our 8 yr old rescue retriever, sadly we have found that one of the zips gets completely “stuck” if fully zipped up. It appears that the zip has been sewn in incorrectly. As we used it to collect our dog and only discovered the fault when we got home and tried to let her out, I suspect we will be unable to return. Still usable (with one side not fully closed), but an expensive item that I would have expected to have been quality checked.
